Even after a brief look at block storage areas, outsiders often ask themselves the following question: How is one supposed to keep track of inventory quantities and items here or perform reliable inventories? Most storage areas seem too large for these endeavors, the stacks too high and the blocks simply too confusing. A statement that a large number of companies and warehouse employees can confirm only too well.

This is exactly why we deliver doks.ceiling, a tailor-made solution for automated inventory recording in indoor block warehouses. For this purpose, camera modules are mounted beneath the warehouse ceiling and aligned in such a way that they completely cover the storage area. Due to the magnetic mounting and the battery-based power supply of the modules, the installation is completed within a very short time and without much effort. From now on, the camera modules provide images of the tops of the stored stacks, which form the crucial basis for inventory records. Algorithms trained and adapted to the respective application are used to detect from the captured image data which objects are located in the respective block and how high the individual stacks are. In this way, the total inventory at the time of data acquisition can be calculated. In addition, all stacks can be located on the images, thus preventing search processes and losses of stored objects.

Following data processing, the data captured by doks.ceiling is visualized in the user interface developed by us and is available for export to existing ERP and WMS at any time. In addition to classic inventory lists, which show the available quantities of the respective object classes, the user can also search for individual objects and display their exact position.
